Schools closing, exams over, time off work and long lazy balmy summer evenings. It can only mean one thing; the holiday season is finally upon us. Hoorah! Though before we can lay out that towel and clock up some much needed relaxation time, there is one thing standing between all of us and our holidays; the packing. After years of family holidays I still find myself traditionally the night before sitting on top of my bulging open suitcase, with maybe a far too optimistic outlook on being able to close it (after much huffing and puffing I surprisingly succeed!). So to prevent any pre holiday headaches I have put together an essential holiday checklist if you are jetting off on a beach holiday;
Swimwear
If you are planning on taking a beach holiday, chances are you will spend a large percent of your time in your swimwear, so packing more than one is probably a good idea, especially if you lose one of them while away you will not be faced with having to go skinny dipping! If you have been religiously visiting the gym pre holiday season, a bikini will show off that flat stomach you have worked so hard to achieve and with the right bikini cup, it can be very flattering on the bust. If you are feeling less daring, tankinis are fabulous at flattering a curvier figure while also conveying style. Last but not least is of course the all in one swimsuit, with an ever increasing variety in designs of the one piece, they are becoming increasingly popular with fashionistas. It is important to remember there is a style of swimwear to flatter and suit every body shape, so ladies please leave your body worries at home because everyone can look fabulous on the beach!
Footwear
Two words: Flip flops.
Ok, so I am going to have say more than two words, but by flip flops are the answer to beach footwear. With the open toe it insures your feet will keep cool and banish any risk of uncomfortable sweaty feet (not the best look for the beach)! The colours and styles are endless and with brands getting inventive there is even now a flip flop which cleverly carries its own bottle opener! Not a fan of the flip flop? Open toe sandals are also a foot saviour. The most important thing when it comes to beach footwear is comfort.
